Life 1.0: Love Energy
Posted on Wednesday, November 30 @ 10:06:55 CST by davidjo

Relationships Where is your love energy going?
  1. Lovers of self - love the idea of Jesus but have a hard time loving Him.
  2. Lovers of self - have lots to say about how church could be better but have a hard time loving the church.
  3. Lovers of self - love the idea of what a spouse should be like but have a hard time loving their spouse.
  4. Lovers of self - love the idea of friends and family but have a hard time genuinely loving them for who they are.
How much disappointment do we hold against those we are supposed to love and why is it we have such a hard time loving Jesus and loving others?

We don’t even have to think about ‘what’s in it for me’ anymore; we just act it. Let’s be honest. How much of our energy is devoted to self fulfillment? Are our self established standards unrealistic and actually harming our relationships? Do we actually care about Jesus, our family members, friends and strangers or are we more in love with our standards and our ideas? Do we need to prove our point all the time, because we are right? Do we get a jolt of satisfaction every time we say “I told you so!” for the umpteenth time? Are these standards really just another tool for our satisfaction and feeling of self worth? Feeling good about yourself because things went your way or you proved a point, doesn’t make you better than others. Forget about the standards that cause conditional love. Love unconditionally. You are not the most important person in the world. Jesus loves the bum on the street just as much as He loves you. But to you He has given much and much is required. So love Jesus wholeheartedly and without conditions and love others without measure. If you have to measure, love others as you love yourself. Use what has been given to you to make a difference for Jesus on this earth and stop wasting time devoting all of your love energy on your self. Isn't Jesus taking care of you already?
Matthew 22: 37-39 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
